One of the primary objectives of the USMGA is to provide the public with a credential, backed by a solid standard, that it can use when hiring a guide. Guides who have proven through a field exam that they meet established international or national guiding standards, qualify for a USMGA endorsement, the strongest credential in the US guiding industry.
